Pajarico (1997) is a gentle and poetic Spanish film directed by Carlos Saura. The story follows Manu, a 10-year-old boy sent from Madrid to live with relatives in the Murcia region for a while while his parents are separated. Here, Manu gradually discovers a completely different world: strange relatives, peaceful countryside scenery, and especially his first feelings when he develops feelings for a local girl.

The film is filled with nostalgia and family affection, recreating a naive, innocent childhood, mixed with subtle first emotions. With a slow rhythm, cinematic images and lyrical background music, Pajarico is not only a childhood story but also a love letter to past memories and innocence
