Harriet the Spy

Michelle Trachtenberg stars in “Harriet the Spy,” her first major role in a feature film. She began acting in commercials at age 3 and appeared in 14 episodes across seasons 2 and 3 of “The Adventures of Pete & Pete” as Nona Mecklenberg.

“Harriet the Spy” (1996) is based on Louise Fitzhugh’s 1964 novel of the same name. The film marked the debut of Nickelodeon Movies.
The story follows Harriet M. Welsch, a sixth-grade girl with big aspirations of becoming a writer and spy.
The movie is a classic, boasting a talented cast, including Rosie O’Donnell, Gregory Smith and Vanessa Lee Chester.
Nickelodeon Movies, in partnership with Paramount Pictures, went on to release many beloved classic films.
